The Association of Municipalities of the Northwest Region (ASOMURENO) is one of the ten regional organizations within the Dominican Federation of Municipalities (FEDOMU), which includes the thirty-five municipalities (17 municipalities and 18 districts) of the northwest region, encompassing the provinces of Valverde, Santiago Rodríguez, Montecristi, and Dajabón.

The Dominican Federation of Municipalities (FEDOMU) is a national, non-partisan, public and social interest organization, free from political, racial, gender, religious, or ideological discrimination, that associates and represents the municipalities and municipal districts of the Dominican Republic, to promote the development and democracy of municipalities.
