The UNESCO Chair on Women, Science, and Technology in Latin America, established in 2001 following the recommendations of the Regional Forum on Women, Science, and Technology in Latin America (Bariloche-Argentina, 1998) and the World Conference “Science for the 21st Century: a new commitment” (Budapest-Hungary, 1999), aims to promote conditions that ensure gender equality in scientific, technological, and innovation development (STI).
